The High-performance motorised pan and tilt unit, The Mantis, is designed to support a high payload capacity while accurately controlling the line of sight of single or multiple payloads remotely. The Mantis can be configured to handle a wide range of sensors for long-range precision surveillance tasks.
Capable of axis speeds of up to 50° per second, Mantis is ideally suited for homeland security in permanent installations and vehicle-based applications, where a high degree of controllability and positional accuracy is required. In addition, using an adapter, The Mantis may also be paired with the Groundmaster for tripod-mounted applications. Typical payloads include thermal imagers, day/night cameras and combination electro-optic sensor systems.
The Mantis is available in two standard versions, the basic ‘L’ configuration and the ‘U’ configuration with a support arm for heavier payloads or higher shock and vibration environments.
The capabilities of the Mantis can be further extended with the addition of factory-configured options such as gyro stabilisation and the use of support arm spaces to achieve optimum payload mass distribution.
