Test & Inspection Technician

Department: Operations
Reporting to:
Production Team Leader

The Test & Inspection Technician role will be to inspect and test products to the specific product standard and Customer requirements including but not limited to ESS test function. Ensure that all products are fit for purpose and aligns with the company quality standards, reporting any deviation and quarantining according to non conformance procedure. To complete written reports, NCR’s and customer returns data bases in a timely manner. Also to work within other areas of the business as required.

Security

  • Due to the nature of the work all candidates must be eligible to obtain security clearance to SC level.

  • Test product using the ESS equipment and relevant procedures
  • Complete and file all related documentation in a timely manner
  • Complete continual review and updates of test documentation and Product Work Instructions
  • Report all deviation to the Product Engineering department for correction
  • Work as part of the team to promote Continual Improvement throughout the business

Qualifications

  • Standard educational level requirements to include English, Maths and a science subject
  • Quality related knowledge with an Engineering appreciation but must show dexterity and a keen eye for detail

Experience

  • Experience working within an engineering / quality related production environment

Knowledge

  • A good working knowledge of Instro products is an advantage although training will be given where necessary
  • Awareness and knowledge of the importance of ESD measures

  • Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings
  • Understanding of company product lines
  • Ability to use electronic equipment such as multimeter’s, oscilloscopes
  • Capable of working under own initiative
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools
  • Capable of articulating root cause of simple failures
  • Capable to identify acceptable build quality to FFF methodology
  • Capable of using MS word and excel programs
  • Identify and report continuous improvement opportunities within the department
