Manufacturing Resource Planner

Department: Operations
Reporting to:
Supply Chain Manager

The Material Resource Planner will form an integral part of the Operations team. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager your role will require you to ensure effective planning of material and resource to meet the demands of the customer’s deliveries. Ensuring that all materials and goods required for production go into the right place exactly when they should. They will work closely with managers and engineers to ensure everything runs smoothly.

The role will have a clear focus on continuous improvement and developing the planning function in line with the strategic objectives to enable effective procurement and planning to support production objectives and new product development.

Security

  • Due to the nature of the work all candidates must be eligible to obtain security clearance to SC level.

  • Managing and controlling the Production Planning to ensure that production workflow is maximised to meet the output plan.
  • Ensure parts and materials are delivered on time to meet the production schedule.
  • Determine manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand.
  • Work with the supply team and carry out the duties of a buyer as required to support the team’s output.
  • Liaise with Suppliers and colleagues to ensure that their delivery schedules will be achieved.
  • Monitor jobs to ensure they will finish on time and within budget.
  • Foster close working relationships with associated departments e.g. Sales, Engineering, Production and Business Development.
  • Continually improve planning methods and procedures to optimize production performance.
  • Ensuring that products are shipped accordingly to the plan whilst maintaining compliance with export restrictions.
  • Development and recording of relevant KPIs to improve performance.
  • Other tasks required by the management team.

Qualifications

  • GCSE Grade 4 (or equivalent) English and Maths.

Experience

  • Proven experience in a similar organisation

  • Understanding of engineering, scientific and other technical information

  • Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems
